The minimum viable meeting cadence
- Daily , 15-min standup, only blockers (or replace with a written async one).
- Weekly , 60-min team meeting, last week's results + next week's commitments.
- Bi-weekly , 30-min 1:1s between every manager and report.
- Monthly , all-hands with metrics, wins, losses, and what's coming.
- Quarterly , planning offsite to set the next 90 days of priorities.
Replace status meetings with writing
If a meeting is purely 'who did what,' it should be a doc. Reserve synchronous time for decisions, debates, and unblocking , not updates.
